Expansion Every 6 months?? FACT!
up-on the release of Prophecies the GW team promised an expansion every 6 months... most people are complaining since they say Factions is 1 year after prophecies, so they broke thier promise... well, you'd be wrong..
They released "Sorrows Furnace" in summer last year (approx 6 months after prophecies release (give or take)) -- they called this an expansion..
Then, 6 months (give or take) AFTER that, Factions was released, classed as a "Stand alone game" -- but also as an expansion... this we see, is Expansion number 2..
My THEORY is.... They will release another smaller (similar to Sorrows furnace) expansion later this year... then around March/April 2007 we will see Chapter 3 -- since a whole game (Classed as stand alone) takes much more work than a simple "Expansion"

this has been debunked several times by ALEX WEEKES (NCSOFT EUROPE) and JEFF STRAIN.
chapter 3 is right on schedule for release in OCT/NOV of 06 having been started 6 months after the release of GW APRIL 28 05

There won't be a free expansion for Factions, it was officially stated somewhere.
And yes, you can't make a stand alone game in a year. Even the WoW expansion takes like over a year already and it's "only an expansion" while Anet has an ambition of releasing a stand alone game every six months. Good luck with that.

Okay guys... When Guild Wars: Prophecies was released Factions was started 6 months after. There are two Anet teams, they dowork in a dual-like harmony. Theres 6 month pauses between the "stand alone" releases but 12 months of developement put into each.
Its half rumor half fact that an "Auction House" system will be implemented into Guild Wars, maybe along with a Beauty Merchant. In a patch this Summer... This has not been proven but many facts lead to it. As Anet did promise an Auction House, and said they are very interested in a Beauty Merchant.
Quick run through...
Auction House - Basically like a real life one, put up items for Bids.
Beauty Merchant - Buy hair dyes, get hair cuts, etc etc...

False. Guild Wars Prophecies was full time development until release. After release, Guild Wars Factions was started, then half way through (six months) Chapter Three began development, and the dual chapter production officially began. It sorta works like this:
Spring 2005: C1 released, C2 begins development
Fall 2005: C2 is 6 months into development, and C3 begins development.
Spring 2006: C2 is released after 12 months, C3 is 6 months into development, and C4 begins development.
Fall 2006: C3 is released after 12 months, C4 is 6 months into development, and C5 begins development.
Sorrow's Furnace was merely "a little something extra" to compensate for the 1 year wait for the first add-on.

Off topic: Duel is a fight between two people. Dual means two sided or, in this case, two separate teams working on GW.
Thank you and good night.

Patience is a virtue. Know that the more time they spend on a game, it'll only be a better game upon release. You can pick up a shitty expansion next month, or wait and let the art build itself to become the masterpieces like the ones they've delivered so far.

Yep, a fairly solid game with a few bugs, much like every other game on the planet, or need I bring up "The Ruins of Myth Drannor" which basically formated your drive if you tried to uninstall it, among other NUMEROUS bugs.
